As with every piece from Black Raven Armours, the Gudrun is more than just a visual spectacle. Its layered leathers and contoured shape ensure it performs like genuine combat armour, hugging the body and absorbing impacts. Trust me when I say, these armours are not mere showpieces – they evoke a sense of combat readiness that is palpable.

Designed to fit a shield maiden, the Gudrun Body Armour is one of our most practical designs. It’s a full-length body armour tailored to fit bust sizes ranging from 36 to 40 inches & 40 to 44 inches. But the Gudrun is not just about fit and function; it’s a masterclass in artisanal craftsmanship.

Every aspect of the Gudrun has been meticulously handcrafted. The process involves careful cutting, embossing, stitching, riveting, dyeing, and antiquing, all culminating in a piece that exudes both durability and aesthetic appeal. The embossed, gilded panelling and detailed edge embossing add an extra layer of sophistication to the armour.

But what sets the Gudrun apart is the attention to detail. The extensive scale detailing and edge binding on all potentially vulnerable areas make it one of our toughest armours yet.

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat
